Application Analyst

Franklin Pierce University has an opening in the Information Technology Department for an Application Analyst. This is a full-time, exempt, benefited position reporting to the Director of Information Technology. The responsibilities for this position include providing day-to-day support for database administration functions for administrative applications, providing day-to-day support for these applications including testing, implementing upgrades, interim patches, analyzing and resolving software issues. This position also provides data to external agencies in various data formats, facilitating data import and export to the applications � this includes but is not limited to QX, PowerFAIDS, Cbord, Cort, Endeavor and Blackbaud.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor�s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or the equivalent in technical certifications and experience. A proficiency in Infomaker, Crystal Reports, Access, DB Artisan, Microsoft Project and XML. Experience in writing SQL scripts and SQL stored procedures. Project management, programming using object oriented technology and supervisory experience is highly desirable. The ability to communicate easily with all constituencies is required.

Director of Admissions

Franklin Pierce University, a dynamic teaching and learning community offering a blend of traditional liberal arts, pre-professional, teacher preparation, and master�s and doctoral degrees seeks a Director of Admissions for the traditional undergraduate residential program. The University had a record enrollment of 1,705 students in the undergraduate residential program in fall 2007, which is the result of years of steady growth under the leadership of an entrepreneurial President.

The Director will participate in the development of a strategic enrollment management plan and will lead the admissions portion of the plan; is expected to evaluate all recruitment activities and identify the best practices for finding the best fit students for the University; and manage an Admissions office of six professional and four administrative staff.

The qualified candidate will need a bachelor�s degree, with a master�s preferred; and experience in admissions in a college or university setting. Also required are the skills needed to assess goals through statistical analysis and to use technology to produce reports, charts, and tables needed for data informed decision making. Experience in a tuition dependent, liberal arts school is preferred.

Director of Institutional Research

Franklin Pierce University, located in beautiful Rindge, New Hampshire, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to fill a full-time, 12 month position as the Director of Institutional Research.

This position reports to the Vice President of Student Administrative Services and CIO. Responsibilities include the following: developing and maintaining systems, databases and files for collecting, archiving and retrieving statistical and analytical data on a a range of topics to assist the decision making, budgeting and strategic planning of the University. Maintain the fact book and common data set, assisting faculty and staff in designing and completing evaluation and assessment projects. Coordinate internal and external surveys and prepare regular and special reports for government agencies, associations and college guidebooks.

Candidates should have training in applied social science research, including use of statistical and spreadsheet software (SAS or SPSS), significant experience in research design and qualitative and quantitative analysis, including assessment. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and Access , and be able to communicate effectively with diverse college constituencies, both orally and in writing.

Preference will be given to candidates with two years of experience in institutional research at a college or university and a Master's degree in an applied social science.

Director of the Library Services

Franklin Pierce University invites applications for the position of Director of the Library. This position reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Director has faculty status and supervises a staff of 3.5 librarians and 7 FTE professional and paraprofessional staff, approximately 40 part-time student employees, a budget of approximately $928,000, a collection of more than 140,000 volumes and nearly 20,000 print and electronic periodical titles. In addition to library services, this position leads the University�s instructional technology and media and production services. The Franklin Pierce University Library serves students and faculty on the main campus in Rindge, NH and coordinates library services to students enrolled in online and offsite programs.

The Director of the Library will be responsible for providing visionary leadership to the library, advocating for the library in the community and larger world, supervising the delivery of library and information literacy learning services to the community, directing strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, staff development and program assessment, promoting public relations and fund raising; and fostering regional cooperation in resources sharing; networking and collection development.

The successful candidate will have an ALA-accredited MLS in Library Science; have demonstrated significant professional achievement appropriate to the rank of Associate Professor or higher; and a successful record of five years of progressively responsible library administrative leadership in an academic setting. The successful candidate must be comfortable working within a team-oriented environment, eager to engage directly with students, possess the leadership, managerial and communications skills to work with many constituencies, and seek opportunities to engage on institution-wide discussions about information literacy and other library-related issues.

English - Creative Writing/Composition � Assistant Professor
Franklin Pierce University-the College at Rindge invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in English-Creative Writing/Composition to begin Fall 2008. We seek an individual with primary expertise in the writing of poetry and poetics and secondary expertise in the writing of fiction/nonfiction. The ideal candidate has an established national reputation; significant publications; and demonstrated excellence in teaching poetry at the college/university level. Candidate will teach a combination of creative writing courses and first-year general-education writing courses in a 4/4 annual course load as well as advise students in the English major. The person who fills this position will teach Ceramics, 3D design, and Sculpture at the University�s undergraduate College at Rindge. Preferred candidates will have an ongoing exhibition record and possess supplementary skill and experience in teaching drawing, stained glass, printmaking and/or glass blowing. ARIZONA - Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (faculty position)

Franklin Pierce University is seeking faculty to join an experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy faculty within the University. New faculty will be a part of our exciting, on the move University, helping to establish our planned Goodyear, AZ Expansion Program*. The Program in New Hampshire is fully accredited through CAPTE.

The responsibility of the ACCE will be to provide coordinate the clinical education program of the Physical Therapy Curriculum, which includes developing, monitoring and refining the clinical education component of the curriculum, facilitating quality learning experiences for students during clinical education, evaluating students' performance in cooperation with other faculty, in relation to progression through the didactic and clinical components of the curriculum. Conduct site visits for students on affiliation. Communicates and serves as a liaison between the University and affiliated clinical education sites. Promotes clinical faculty development, conduct annual assessment of the effectiveness of the clinical education program and make recommendations to the PT faculty curriculum committee for improvements. Teach clinical education courses (face to face and online) in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Physical Therapy Faculty Curriculum Committee and administered by the Dean. Also involves teaching modules in other courses, and/or being a lab assistant for other instructor(s). Conducting and disseminating research that contributes to the profession. Franklin Pierce University is seeking an experienced Associate Director for our Physical Therapy program within the University. New faculty will be a part of our exciting, on the move University, helping to establish our planned Goodyear, AZ Expansion Program*. The Program in New Hampshire is fully accredited through CAPTE.

Graduate Assistant Institutional Advancement

Franklin Pierce University is seeking an enthusiastic individual who would like to further their academic endeavors while gaining experience with the Institutional Advancement Team at the Rindge Campus. The Graduate Assistant will work with the Director of Annual Giving developing the Senior Class Gift and Phonathon Program as well assist the Manger of Research and Advancement with data entry and research. The successful candidate will be expected to work 30 hour per week and will be compensated an $8,000 stipend and a full tuition and fee waiver for MBA, MEd and MS ITM programs. The GA must be enrolled in a Franklin Pierce University graduate program prior to applying for this position.

Part-Time Administrative Assistant Fitzwater Center Manchester

Franklin Pierce University has a part-time, non-exempt position for an outgoing, organized person as a Part-Time Administrative Assistant for the Fitzwater Center for Communications at the Manchester Center.

This individual is a front-line representative for Franklin Pierce University and is responsible for answering all incoming Fitzwater Center calls. The position involves a high degree of interaction with people from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds, including students, the general public, and media professionals. The successful candidate will perform assistant duties for the Director of the Fitzwater Center including reception, programmatic logistics, customer service, data entry, filing, and administrative record maintenance.

Per Diem Campus Safety Officer

Franklin Pierce University is looking to a per-diem position reporting to the Director of Campus Safety. This position is for Saturday and Sunday day shifts.
This position performs a variety of safety, enforcement and crime prevention tasks for the College. Basic duties include foot and vehicle patrol, response to emergencies and calls for service, documentation of incidents, traffic and parking enforcement, assist with campus safety computer records and reports, and providing crime awareness education.
Candidates should have a minimum of a High School Diploma, an Associates degree in criminal justice is preferred; two years relevant work experience. All candidates must have a driver's license and a good driving history, a basic knowledge of relevant laws and safety and fire prevention preferred. Candidates must possess good judgment, discretion, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member.

Per Diem Communication Specialist

Franklin Pierce University is looking to fill the following per-diem positions reporting to the Director of Campus Safety.
This position is responsible for operating the College's central switchboard and Campus Safety Department dispatch area, monitoring alarms and receiving assistance calls, dispatching Campus Safety Officers, EMTS, and FP
Fire Department personnel to emergency situations. Duties also include greeting and assisting callers and visitors, issuing various college forms, and operating office machines. Some of the training may be away from the college, requiring overnight lodging. The required training for this position will include overnight lodging. Candidates should hold at least a High School Diploma and have strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a proficiency in basic computers. Experience in dispatch or switchboard operation preferred, but willing to train.
