Brooks
finished the game with a triple, a double, a single, three RBI and two
runs scored. McHugh chipped in with two runs scored, while junior Meagan
Newland (East Burke, Vt./Lyndon Institute) added a hit for Saint
Michael’s.
Franklin Pierce was led by sophomore Colleen Varone
(Holliston, Mass./Holliston), who notched a pair of singles and
scored a run. Freshman Kate Surgen (Southampton, Mass./Hampshire
Regional) added two singles and an RBI in a losing effort.
Saint Michael’s sophomore pitcher Meggan Roberge (Sheldon
Springs, Vt./Missisquoi) scattered six hits and struck out 12
batters in a complete game effort. She improved to a perfect 14-0 on the
season. Senior Courtney Lemoie (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln)
took the loss for the Ravens.
Franklin Pierce (7-20, 5-10 NE-10) continues its seven-game roadtrip with a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Southern New Hampshire University tomorrow at 3:30. Saint Michael’s (17-6, 10-3 NE-10) will travel to Le Moyne College for a league twinbill tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
