Franklin
Pierce Drops
In game one, freshman Meggan
Roberge (Sheldon Springs, Vt./ Missisquoi Valley Union)
(10-6) held the Ravens to just three hits and no runs as she picked up
six strikeouts in five innings of work. Junior
Megan Welcome (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) was the only
Franklin Pierce hitter to pick up multiple hits in the contest.
Roberge also helped out Saint
Michael’s from the offensive end, going 1-for-3 at the plate with
two RBI and a run scored. Classmate Casey
Brooks (Colchester, Vt./Colchester)
also went 1-3 with two RBI and a run, while Noelle Gill (Deep
River, Conn./Mercy), Beth Murray (Epsom, N.H./ Bishop
Brady), Whitney Christmas (Brattleboro, Vt./ Brattleboro
Union) and Meg Currier (Greenfield, Mass./ Stoneleigh-Burnham
School) each contributed an RBI and a run scored.
Junior Christine Boutiette
(Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) went 4.2 innings for the Ravens
and took the loss (2-5). In the second game of the twinbill, the Purple Knights took an early lead with one run in the first on a RBI single from Murray to score Brooks, but the Ravens posted three runs in the bottom of the inning as freshman Colleen Varone (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) drove in senior Michelle Derochers (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) and classmate Lauren Chenausky (Royalston, Mass./Athol) who reached base with back-to-back singles.
However,
Saint Michael’s would cut the Franklin Pierce lead to one with a run
in the second and then broke the game open with six runs in the third.
Derochers went 2-4 in game two for
the Ravens with a run scored and Chenausky was 2-3 with two runs,
while Varone hit 2-4 with two RBI.

N.Y./ Niskayuna) led all Purple Knights hitters with three RBI
and a run scored, going 2-4 in game two. Gill followed, going 3-4 at
the plate with a run scored and two RBI.
Sophomore Raina Jensen
(Portland, Maine/Deering) picked up the win for Saint
Michael’s and improved to 5-2. She allowed four runs, three earned,
on 10 hits with one walk and one strikeout. Junior Amy Torla
(Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) (1-6) took the loss
and allowed eight runs (six earned) on 10 hits with two walks and one
strikeout.
