FORT MYERS, FLA. (March 18, 2004) –
The Franklin Pierce softball team shut out St. Thomas, ranked #2 in the NAIA 2004 Softball Preseason Rating, 9-0 in Fort Myers this evening.

            Freshman Lindsey Souza was 1-for-1 at the plate with two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base to lead the Ravens. Lauren Chenausky (Royalston, Mass./Athol) hit 2-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Dana Wetzel (Riverdale, N.J./Pompton Cokes) went 2-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

             Kalene Wotton (Westminster, Mass./Oakmont) picked up the win for Franklin Pierce, pitching a complete game shutout and allowing just four hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
            Mendi Stemmer (Miami, Fla.) went three innings for the Bobcats and took the loss. She allowed three runs, one earned on four hits with one walk and one hit batter.

            Franklin Pierce returns home to face Teikyo Post on Monday at 3 p.m.
