(April 12, 2003) - The Franklin Pierce softball team suffered back-to-back losses, falling to Bryant College 8-1 and 2-0, in Northeast-10 Conference softball action at the Bryant Softball Complex this afternoon. The win is the seventh straight for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Deirdre Kittredge led the Bulldogs hitting 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Franklin Pierce junior Michelle Derochers (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) scored the Ravens lone run and finished hitting 1-3. Classmate Lauren Chenausky (Athol, Mass./Athol) went 1-2 with an RBI. The Ravens responded with their only run of the game in the top of the fourth as Chenausky doubled to left and scored Derochers to cut the Bryant lead in half. The Bulldogs put away the game for good in the bottom of the frame as they capitalized on three Franklin Pierce errors to go up by three runs. Bryant went on to score three more runs in the final two innings to clinch the 8-1 win in game one. Sophomore Diane Cummings improved to 4-4 on the season as she allowed just one earned run on five hits, walked one and struck out six in a complete game effort.
