MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 7, 2002)
- The Franklin Pierce University

a 3-2 loss in game one to seal a 7-6 victory over Saint
Anselm College in game two of a Northeast-10 Conference

Saint Anselm jumped out to the early
one-run advantage in the bottom of the first as Haubrich

The Hawks tied the game bottom of
the sixth when Swett singled to reach first, advanced to
second on a sacrifice bunt by Erica Christopher and was
driven in by teammate Allison Pearson to knot the score
2-2.
Swett drove in the gamewinner, as
she knocked in Haubrich in the bottom of the seventh to
seal the 3-2 victory for the Hawks.

The Ravens scored
seven consecutive runs in the top of the seventh to record
a 7-6 victory over the Hawks in game two of the afternoon
doubleheader.
FPC's Mary Reade
(Groveland, Mass./Pentuckett Reg.) finished hitting

The teams were scoreless
heading into the bottom of the third, when Flores scored
on a fielder's choice to put Saint Anselm up by one. The
Hawks tacked one more run later in the inning, as Haubrich
stole home to make the score 2-0.
The Hawks attempted
to put the Ravens away for good with three more runs in
the fourth and fifth innings, but four Saint Anselm errors
led to a seven-run rally in the top of the sixth to put
the Ravens up 7-5.
Christopher singled
in Haubrich to narrow FPC's lead to one run, but the Ravens
held on to clinch the win.
Wotton picked up the
win, as she allowed just one earned run on four hits, struck
out one and walked none in two innings of work. Saint Anselm's
