Hislop
opened the scoring 7:24 into the match after sophomore back Alex
Scavo (Toronto, Ontario/Brother Andre)
passed a ball into the UMass Lowell end from midfield that freshman Jenna
Giardina (Pittsfield, Mass./Taconic)
one-touched to Hislop for a wide-open shot from the left channel into
the lower right corner.
Hislop doubled the Ravens lead in the 16th minute with
a side-footed shot with her left foot from the right channel into the
lower left corner after Welcome sent her in on a break with a pass from
the center of the field.
Senior Martta Makila (Vantaa,
Finland)
extended the lead to three goals in the 18th minute when
Welcome spotted her with a cross for a header at the far post.
Hislop finished off her hat trick just under the hour mark as she pounced on a rebound off a saved shot by sophomore Kristen Lake (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield) and fired it into the back of the net.
