Hislop Earns 12th 
Player of the Week Honor

Belfast, Northern Ireland, native honored 
for the sixth time this season

RINDGE, N.H. (October 25, 2004) – Junior All-American Laura Hislop (Belfast, Northern Ireland) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference’s women’s soccer Player of the Week for the sixth time this season after leading No. 5 Franklin Pierce to a 3-0 week.

            The award is the 12th in Hislop’s two-year career at Franklin Pierce and marks the third-straight week she has copped the Conference award. She totaled ten points in three matches for the Ravens last week with four goals and two assists.            


Hislop totaled ten points with four goals and two assists in a 3-0 week for the No. 5-ranked Ravens.

Hislop opened the week by netting the insurance goal in Monday’s 2-0 victory at the College of Saint Rose in a rematch of the 2003 NCAA Division II New England Regional Championship. She led the Ravens to a 5-1 victory at Bentley College on Wednesday with a six-point outing by registered two goals and two assists. Hislop rounded out the week by netting the Ravens opening goal in their 2-1 decision over Southern New Hampshire University which clinched their tenth regular season Conference crown over the last 11 years.

            Hislop, the reigning Division II National Player of the Year, leads the Northeast-10 Conference this season in points, goals and assists after finishing the 2003 season as the leader in the three categories as well. She has totaled 22 goals and 11 assists for 55 points this season, while her team-leading five match-winning goals rank second in the NE-10.

            Hislop enters the week ranked eighth in program history with 140 career points in 39 career matches, while her 53 career goals are good for seventh in program history and her 34 assists are tied for ninth all-time.

            Franklin Pierce (14-1, 12-1 NE-10) clinched its fourth-straight Northeast-10 regular season crown with Saturday’s win over Southern New Hampshire and now rounds out the regular season at home on Wednesday against Saint Anselm College at 3:30 p.m. The Ravens will host all their NE-10 Tournament matches as long as they are alive beginning with a quarterfinal round match on Sunday against an opponent to be determined (Time TBA).
