Named NE-10 RINDGE,
N.H. (September 27, 2004) –
Franklin Pierce junior All-American Laura Hislop (Belfast,
Northern Ireland) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference
Player of the Week for women’s soccer this afternoon. Hislop earns the award for the third time this season and ninth time in her two-year career at the College. She totaled seven points with three goals and an assist in a 2-0
week
for the No. 1-ranked Ravens. Hislop netted her second hat trick of the
season (seventh career) to help lead Franklin Pierce to a 7-0 victory
over American International College on Saturday. She assisted on the
Ravens second goal in their 2-0 triumph at Stonehill College on
Wednesday.
Hislop, the reigning NCAA Division II Player of the Year, leads
Franklin Pierce with 11 goals and seven assists for 29 points through
seven matches this season. She shares the Conference lead in assists and
match-winning goals (three), while ranking second in goals and points.
Hislop has played a role in 18 of the Ravens 26 goals scored this
season.
Hislop ranks ninth all-time at the College with 114 career points
and 42 career goals, while her 30 career assists are good for 12th
all-time. Her three match-winning goals this season has moved her into a
tie for sixth all-time with ten in 32 matches played. Franklin Pierce (7-0, 5-0 NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts No. 22 Merrimack College in a key Conference match at 3:30 p.m. |
