Former Raven to Face Team USA Wednesday Night
Mann’s Australian National Team to face World Champions on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 1, 2002) - Former Franklin Pierce women’s soccer forward April Mann (Brisbane, Australia) will be in uniform tomorrow night when the Australian National Team faces defending World Champion Team USA in Nike US Women’s Cup action in Cary, N.C. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m.

Mann and “The Matildas” split a two-match series with Canada last week, with Mann getting the start in a 2-0 loss and entering as a reserve in Saturday’s 1-0 victory. She has totaled ten caps for her national team over the last two years, netting three goals.

Mann was an All-Northeast-10 Conference forward at Franklin Pierce in 2001, ranking second on the team with 47 points on 17 goals (four game winners) and 13 assists. He point total is good for 23rd on the all-time scoring list at the College.

The Franklin Pierce (8-0, 7-0 NE-10), ranked No. 2 in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Division II poll, hosts No. 18 Merrimack College on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
