Verdoes,
Keeldar Named All-American
Dutch natives named to second and
third teams, respectively
RINDGE, N.H. (December
11, 2001) - Juniors Angela Verdoes (Katwijk Aan
Zee, Holland/Ter Leede) and Patricia Keeldar
(Amsterdam, Holland/Ter Leede) both earned All-American
honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA).
Verdoes earns All-American
honors for the first time

Verdoes, voted to
the second team, earns her first All-American award. A midfielder,
Verdoes was earlier named to the All-New England team for
the second time in her career after finishing tied for second
in the Northeast-10 Conference with 47 points this fall.
Her 15 assists ranked second in the NE-10 and she also netted
16 goals (four gamewinners). A first team All-NE-10 pick,
Verdoes also earned All-Region status along with New England
Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year honors in 1999
when she set an NCAA Division II record with 24 assists.
She missed all but two matches in 2000 after a preseason
knee injury.
Verdoes single-handedly
led FP
to a 9-2 win at Le Moyne College on October 27 when
she registered nine points with three goals and three assists.
She recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Ravens
to a 3-1 win over College of Saint Rose on October 8 and
netted a pair of markers in their NE-10 Quarterfinal win
(4-0) over Saint Michael’s College on October 30.

Keeldar also earns her
first All-America honor

Keeldar, voted to
the third team, also earns her first All-American honor.
A forward, Keeldar was also a first-team All-New England
pick after leading the Northeast-10 Conference with 72 points
and 31 goals (seven gamewinners) to go along with ten assists
this season. The NE-10 Player of the Year also claimed first
team All-Conference accolades this fall.
A five-time NE-10
Player of the Week, Keeldar recorded three hat tricks and
netted a season-high four markers in a 9-0 win at Southern
New Hampshire on September 13 and scored three each in wins
at Saint Anselm (6-1) and UMass Lowell (8-0). Keeldar earned
a spot on the NCAA Division II Final Four All-Tournament
team last week after netting their lone goal in the semifinals.
The Franklin Pierce University
women’s soccer team wrapped up its 2001 season with
a 22-1 record and ranked No. 3 in the final NSCAA Division
II poll. The Ravens 22 wins set a school record and matched
the Division II mark. FP
advanced to the NCAA Final Four
for a record tenth-straight season, but had its quest for
a record sixth National Championship halted in the semifinals.
