RINDGE, N.H. (May 4,
2008) –
Freshmen
Lauren Stille (North Quincy, Mass./North Quincy)
and Jordan
Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass./Westfield)
of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team both earned
postseason honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, the conference
announced after the NE-10 Championship game on Sunday afternoon.
Stille became the first
Raven women’s lacrosse player to earn a major postseason honor from
the Northeast-10, as she was named the conference’s Freshman of the
Year. Baillargeon, meanwhile, was named to the All-Conference second
team, making her only the second Raven in program history to earn
All-Conference honors.
Stille, a two-time
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week during the year, was named the
Freshman of the Year after leading the conference in both goals and
points during a record-breaking regular season. The freshman
attacker set new single-season records at Franklin Pierce with 73
goals and 14 assists for 87 points, surpassing the previous goals
record by 15 and the points mark by 21, and currently ranks third in
the nation in goals per game (4.56/game) and sixth in total points.
In only one season at Franklin Pierce, she ranks fifth all-time at
the school in both career goals and points as well as sixth in
career assists.

Freshman Jordan
Baillargeon, a second-team All-Conference pick, finished
second on the team in scoring in 2008. |
Baillargeon joins
Courtney Boardman (2003-05) as the only All-Conference selections in
program history with her selection to the second team. The
midfielder, one of only two freshmen named to the All-Conference
team, finished second on the team with 39 goals and seven assists
for 46 points in her first season, including a 10-goal, three-assist
game against Norwich University on April 10. In the win, Baillargeon
set a new school record and placed fifth on the NCAA Division II
single-game list with 13 points, while her 10 goals were second in
school history and tied for fourth all-time for a single game in
Div. II.
Franklin Pierce
completed the 2008 season with a 3-13 record (1-9 in the
Northeast-10). The Ravens set at least seven individual and team
records during the season, including shattering the school record
for goals in a season with 180.
