Past Franklin Pierce, 24-7
RINDGE, N.H. (April 24, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce women’s lacrosse team suffered a tough 24-7 setback to Bentley College in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening at Sodexho Field. The Falcons registered 11 unanswered goals to start the second half and cruise to their ninth victory of the season. Senior Kellyn Riccitelli (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) and junior Liz Goddard (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) led the Bentley scoring attack, combining for 18 total points. Riccitelli totaled nine points on five goals and four assists, while Goddard recorded four goals and five helpers. Freshman Jaclyn Griffin (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) was also solid, totaling seven points on two goals and five assists, while junior Beth Gendron (Tyngsboro, Mass./Tyngsboro) chipped in with four scores and two assists.

Stoffer (New Hartford, Conn./Watkinson) led Franklin Pierce
offensively with four points on three goals and one assist, while
classmate Carla Savini ( Franklin Pierce came out firing in the first half taking an early 1-0 lead as Stamets deposited her ninth goal of the season just 1:15 into the match. Bentley responded just 0:44 later, rallying off four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead. The Falcons opened their lead to 9-2 midway through the first period, but Franklin Pierce countered with a four goal rally late in the half capped by a Stoffer hat-trick. In the second half, Bentley exploded for 11 unanswered goals to open the period and take a commanding 21-6 lead. Riccitelli led the Falcon attack with three goals and two assists, while Goddard notched two scores and two helpers. Savini netted a goal for the Ravens at the 13:06 mark, but the Falcons junior Bridget Fitzgerald (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) recorded three goals to close out the half. Bentley out-shot Franklin Pierce 54 to 17 in the contest. Freshman goaltender Christina Guglielmo (Fair Haven, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) collected seven stops in the Falcon victory, while senior goaltender Erin Hopkins (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan Academy) registered 20 saves for the Ravens. Franklin Pierce (2-13, 1-8 NE-10) will be in action again on Thursday as it travels to American International at 4 p.m. Bentley (9-4, 8-1 NE-10) will travel to Stonehill College on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Bentley 24, Franklin Pierce 7
