#2 L.I.U. C.W. Post Defeats Franklin Pierce, 17-0

RINDGE, N.H. (April 21, 2006) – The Franklin Pierce Women’s Lacrosse team suffered a tough 17-0 loss to Long Island University C.W. Post, ranked No. 2 in this week’s Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Poll, in non-conference action this evening at Sodexho Field. The Pioneers scored 11 first half goals and limited the Ravens to four shots throughout the game to pick up their 11th victory of the season.
C.W. Post junior Shannon Fabian (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) led all scorers with a game-high six points on three goals and three assists. Freshman Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) posted a game-high four goals to aid the Pioneer offense, while sophomore Jenna Miller (Silver Spring, Md./Blake), classmate Elaine Williams (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) and junior Lauren LoMonaco (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) each chipped in with two goals and one assist.
C.W. Post out-shot Franklin Pierce 44-4 and held a 23-19 advantage in groundballs. Franklin Pierce junior goalkeeper Erin Hopkins (Pen Yan, N.Y./Pen Yan) made 16 saves despite the loss, while Pioneer goalkeeper, senior Chrissy Esposito (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) earned her third victory of the season.

will travel to the University of New Haven on Monday for a match
starting at 4 p.m. L.I.U. C.W. Post (11-1, 2-0 NYCAC) will travel to
Bentley College on Saturday for a match starting at 11 a.m.
