Franklin Pierce Falls At Bentley, 19-1

WALTHAM, MASS. (April 12, 2006) – The Franklin Pierce Women’s Lacrosse team suffered a tough 19-1 loss to Bentley College in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening at Bentley College. The Falcons registered ten goals in the first half and nine in the second, while limiting the Ravens to three shots all game.
Bentley College was led by freshman Kim Morris (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) who had a game high six points on three goals and three assists. Junior Kellyn Riccitelli (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) scored five goals in the game while classmate Kate Barry (Hopkinton, Mass..Hopkinton) recorded a season-high five points with three goals and two assists.
Franklin Pierce freshman Kayleigh Jaksina (Townsend, Mass./North Middlesex) tallied the lone Raven goal with 3:49 remaining in the match. The Ravens were limited to only two shots on goal and posted only 11 groundballs compared to Bentley’s 33 groundballs in the match.
Bentley senior goaltender Lisa Cavallo (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) made one save to earn the victory, while junior goaltender Erin Hopkins (Pen Yan, N.Y./Pen Yan) made 16 saves in net for the Ravens. Bentley out shot Franklin Pierce 51-3 overall, held a 35-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Franklin Pierce (0-9, 0-6 NE-10) will be in action again on Saturday as it hosts No. 1 ranked Stonehill College at 1 p.m. Bentley returns to action on Monday with a game at home against American International College at 4 p.m.
