Bryant Upends Franklin
Pierce, 20-8
RINDGE,
N.H. (April 18, 2005) – The
Franklin Pierce women’s lacrosse team suffered a 20-8 setback to
Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference action at Sodexho Field
this evening. The Bulldogs outscored the Ravens 10-4 in both halves en
route to their seventh straight league win.
Junior Marissa Lawrence (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth)
racked up six points on four goals and a pair of helpers, while
sophomore Lauren Carlisle (San Diego, Calif./Mount Carmel)
tallied five goals. Freshman Caitlin Hansen (Spring Lake,
N.J./Manasquan) totaled four markers and an assist, while
sophomore Shaun Leddy (Sea Girt, N.J./Manasquan) chipped
in with a hat trick and two assists for the Bulldogs.
Junior Courtney Boardman (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) led
all scorers with six goals for the Ravens. Senior captain Amanda
McIntosh (Madison, N.J./Madison) and sophomore Lindsey
Souza (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) rounded out the scoring for
Franklin Pierce with one goal apiece.
Bryant
junior goalkeeper Samantha Libby (Penacook, N.H./Merrimack Valley)
made eight saves en route to the win, while freshman Michaela
Sullivan (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) also stopped eight shots
in a losing effort for the Ravens.
Franklin Pierce (0-14, 0-8 NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday,
when they travel to Saint Michael’s College for a Northeast-10
Conference contest beginning at 4:00 p.m. Bryant returns home for a
league tilt versus Merrimack on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Bryant
