Silverman Nets Five to Lead Ravens

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (March 18, 2004) –
The Franklin Pierce women’s lacrosse team posted its second-straight victory with an 11-6 win over Roger Williams this evening.

            Sophomore Alissa Silverman (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) led the Ravens with five goals, while juniors Courtney Boardman (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) and Amanda McIntosh (Madison, N.J./Madison) each registered three goals. Senior Angel Bottomley (Hampton, Va./Hampton) and junior April Demers (Gorham, N.H./Gorham) both contributed assists for Franklin Pierce.

            The Ravens amassed a 7-1 advantage by the end of the first half, a lead they did not relinquish. Senior Ashley Simpson (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) posted 12 saves in goal in the win.

            Franklin Pierce (2-1) returns to action next Wednesday when it travels to New Haven for a game at 3:30 p.m. Roger Williams (0-3) hosts Emerson College on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
