Anselm Drops FPC, 17-2
KEENE, N.H. (April 8, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce University
women’s lacrosse team fell for the second
time in less than 24 hours as it was handed a 17-2
setback to Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10
Conference action at Keene State College this morning.
The Ravens suffered a 12-5 defeat to Assumption
College last night and took the field at 10 a.m.,
today.
Junior Tonya Tatro
(West Springfield, N.H./Kearsage) and sophomore
Katelynn O’Connell (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich)
each netted four goals to lead Saint Anselm to its
second-straight win.
Freshman Ally Maslowski
(Billerica, Mass./Billerica) totaled two goals and
an assist, while sophomore Kristin Conte
(Sheldon, Vt./Bellows Free Academy) and freshman
Maura Clancy (Palmer, Mass./MacDuffie) both
scored a pair of goals.
Junior Courtney Ryan
(Worcester, Mass./Saint Peter Marian) and freshman
Shalon King (Phillipsburg, Maine/Morse)
netted FPC’s goals, both of which came in the first
half. Junior
Janel Sullivan (Newfield, Maine/Bonny
Eagle) assisted on both Raven tallies.
Freshman goalkeeper Ashley
Simpson (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) recorded
14 saves for the Ravens, while junior Meghan
Briggs (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow)
stopped four shots for the Hawks.

to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Springfield,
Mass., to face American International College at
3:30 p.m. Saint Anselm (2-3, 2-2 NE-10) travels
to Assumption College on Thursday for a match at
3:30 p.m.
