Steve Hancock Steve Hancock is in his second year as assistant coach of the Franklin Pierce University women's basketball program. Hancock returned as Head Coach Mark Swasey's assistant in 2006 after a ten year absence following his head coaching career at Franklin Pierce. When Hancock left Franklin Pierce in 1996 after being named Assistant Principal at Gardner (Mass.) High School, he did so as the program's all-time leader in victories. He led the Ravens to a 135-92 (.590) record from 1988-96, three NCAA Tournament berths and two New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships. Hancock was twice named NECC Coach of the Year, earning the honors in 1991-92 and '93-'94.
Hancock's teams posted a 101-45 (.692) record over his last five seasons at the helm, including a 63-19 (.768) mark in NECC play. The Ravens set a school record for wins during a 24-7 campaign in 1991-92, claiming the first NECC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in program history, posting a school-record 13-1 record in conference play. Hancock has an incredible eye for talent as his programs produced ten All-NECC performers, including 1990-91 NECC Rookie of the Year Dina Sawicki, 1992-93 NECC Rookie of the Year Cassie Beckwith and 1993-94 NECC Player of the Year Kelly Jewett, five ECAC All-Stars and four Franklin Pierce Athletics Hall of Fame inductees. Hancock, who retired in 2006 after 35 years as a teacher and administrator in the Gardner school system, currently resides in Gardner with his wife, Rosemary. The couple have a son, Chris, and daughter, Mary Jane.
Amy Senefelder
Amy Senefelder is in her second year as graduate assistant coach of the Franklin Pierce University. women's basketball team. Senefelder came to Franklin Pierce from Tri-State University, an NCAA Division III institution which competes in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), in Angola, Ind., where she was a four-year letterwinner from 2001-2005 before serving as a student assistant coach during the 2005-06
season. She assisted the coaching staff with on-court instruction and film breakdown, while also compiling in game statistics. I addition to her four-year career with the Thunder's women's basketball program, Senefelder served as camp counselor at the Hoosier Basketball Camp and worked as a student assistant in the TSU sports information office. She is currently pursiung her Master's Degree at Franklin Pierce. Senefelder is a native of Knox, Ind. |
