Bentley
Downs Senior
forward Becky Davidson (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) led
Bentley scorers as she registered a double-double with 21 points and
11 rebounds and hit three of five from three-point range. Junior Shevon
Gibbons (Fayetteville, N.C./Kaiserslautern (Germany)),
who played for Ravens head coach Mark Swasey at Norwich
two years ago, also posted a double-double with 19 points and 10
rebounds and notched her 1,000th point of her collegiate
career during the second half.
Freshman
forward Danielle D’Ettorre (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/St.
Mary’s) led Franklin Pierce with 13 points and five rebounds
and made five of eight from the free throw line while seniors Tara
Bligh (Milton, Mass./Milton) and Erin Bailey (North
Grafton, Mass./Nashua (N.H.)) chipped in with eight points
each. The Falcons built their lead with a 29-6 run in the first half with 18
points coming off of turnovers. For the game, Bentley shot 56.6%
(30-53), including 51.6% (16-31) in the first and 63.6% (14-22) in the
second. Franklin
Pierce shot 34.5% (20-58) for the game and hit just 2-12 (16.7%) from
three-point range for the contest. Franklin Pierce (3-3, 1-3 NE-10) returns to the court on Saturday when it travels to Merrimack for a Conference game at 1 p.m. Bentley (4-2, 2-1 NE-10) hosts UMass Lowell on Saturday at 2 p.m. |
