Senior Jennifer Webster became the 17th player in program history to score 1,000 career points this evening

Webster becomes 17th player in program history to reach 1,000-point plateau

RINDGE, N.H. (February 3, 2003) - Franklin Pierce netted the game’s first 13 points en route to building a 23-2 lead less than nine minutes into the contest and never looked back in posting an 88-37 victory over Green Mountain College in a non-conference women’s basketball match-up at the Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse tonight.


Sophomore Pat Lang totaled nine points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the win

Senior forward Jennifer Webster (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) became the 17th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau as she netted a game-high 26 points and 14 rebounds (six offensive) for her fifth double-double of the season to lead a balanced Franklin Pierce attack.

Webster gathered an offensive rebound at the 14:40-mark of the second half and laid it in to reach the milestone with her 24th point of the contest. Her 1,002 career points moves her immediately into 16th place all-time. Webster hit ten-of-16 shots from the field and canned 6-7 from the free-throw line for the night.


Freshman Amy McMullin added a career-high eight points and five rebounds against the Eagles

Sophomore Patricia Lang (Monroe, N.H./Saint Johnsbury Academy) totaled nine points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks, while junior Erin Bailey (North Grafton, Mass./Nashua (N.H.)) also totaled nine points and snared two steals. Junior Susan Ocitti (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge R&L) added eight points and eight boards, while freshman Amy McMullin (Leawood, Kan./Messalonskee (Maine)) chipped in a season-high eight points and five rebounds.

Senior Christina Raiche led Green Mountain with 16 points and five rebounds. Freshman Shelly Miles added eight points, while senior Erica Knolhoff chipped in six points, five rebounds and three steals. Junior Shannon Stanton pulled down a team-best seven boards.

The Ravens hit 50-percent (35-70) of its field goal attempts for the night and turned the ball over just ten times (twice in the first half). The Eagles shot just 23.7% (14-59) from the field and was out-rebounded by a 54-32 margin.

Franklin Pierce (10-11, 5-11 NE-10) hosts Stonehill College, ranked second in the Northeast Region, on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Green Mountain (5-11) hosts Bryant College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
