Fourth-Straight Defeat, 80-58
60-percent shooting effort in the second
half propels Falcons
WALTHAM, Mass.
(February 5, 2002) - Bentley College used a 60-percent
(15-25) shooting effort in the second half to break open
a close game and defeat Franklin Pierce College, 80-58,
in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball action at
the Dana Athletic Center tonight.
Bentley handed Franklin
Pierce its fourth-straight loss of the season, marking the
longest drought of the season for the upstart Ravens. Meanwhile
the Falcons, unranked for the first time in seven years,
recorded its 25th-staight regular season home victory.
Sophomore guard Keri
Flynn led Bentley with 18 points, aided by a four-of-seven
shooting effort from three-point range, four rebounds and
three steals. Senior Kara O'Neil added 16 points, on 4-6
shooting beyond the arc, two assists and two steals, while
junior Lauren Fuller chipped in 12 points, seven boards
and three assists.
Bentley shot 50.9%
(29-57) from the field for the night, including a 50% (9-18)
effort from three-point range (4-6 second half), and out-rebounded FP
by a 41-25 margin, including 16-9 on the offensive glass.
Franklin Pierce shot 40.4% (23-57) from the field, but just
32.1% (9-28) in the final half, and hit just 1-12 three-point
attempts for the night.
Senior Emily
Liskow (Strafford, N.H./Coe-Brown) led the Ravens
with 15 points (11 first half), while junior Jennifer
Webster (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) added 12 points.
Sophomore Tara
Bligh (Milton, Mass./Milton) contributed a season-high
eight points and led all FP
rebounders with a career-best
seven boards to go along with two assists and a steal. Freshman
Patricia Lang (Monroe, N.H./Saint Johnsbury Academy)
chipped in eight points, six rebounds, a season-high eight
assists and three steals.

returns home to host Stonehill College on Saturday at 1
p.m. The game will mark the return of head coach Sarah Behn
to the Ravens bench after missing the entire season due
to the birth of twin boys last month. Bentley (14-7, 11-6
NE-10) hosts Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday
at 1:30 p.m.
