Pierce Downs RINDGE, N.H. (November 30, 2005) – Franklin Pierce notched its second win of the season, defeating Southern New Hampshire University, 65-52, in Northeast-10 Conference action tonight at the Franklin Pierce Field house. Franklin Pierce sophomore Stephanie Bergeron (Pointe Claire, Quebec/Dawson College) led all scorers with a season-high 19 points and two steals. She hit 6-of-10 shots from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, and converted 4-of-4 free-throw attempts on the night. Freshman Jennifer Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Academy) finished with 14 points for the Ravens, while also contributing five rebounds and four assists.
Junior Danielle D’Ettorre (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/St. Mary’s) nothced14 points and five rebounds in the Ravens win, while senior captain Heather Jacobs (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) added 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, and six rebounds on the night. Southern New Hampshire senior captain Chrisondra Griffith (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) led the Penmen with ten points and five rebounds, on 4-of-6 shooting from the field. Sophomore Alex Giannopoulou (Thessalonika, Greece) was also solid, registering nine points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Penmen. Franklin Pierce (2-3, 2-1 NE-10) will travel to UMass Lowell on Saturday for a match starting at 3:30 p.m. Southern New Hampshire University (0-4, 0-4 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday, as it travels to New York Institute of Technology for a match starting at 2 p.m. BOX SCORE |
