offensive turnovers.
Franklin
Pierce scored the first five points over the first two minutes of the
second half to quickly erase a five-point halftime deficit with
D’Ettorre leading the way with three points. The Golden Knights
regained a three-point cushion (42-39) after a Henry lay-up 4:56 into
the stanza, but the Ravens reeled off a 7-0 run to take a four-point
lead (46-42) with 13:30 to play. Lidke sparked the rally with a
three-point play and D’Ettorre scored the four points. Saint
Rose lay-ups from sophomore Ariel Davis (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee)
and Gottstein knotted the score for a 12th time on the
night (46-46) with 12:49 to play, but D’Ettorre put the Ravens up
for good with a three-pointer at the 12:29-mark. Franklin
Pierce led by a point (51-50) after a Gottstein lay-up at the
11:14-mark, but the Ravens opened an eight-point edge (60-52), sparked
by five points from Lang, with 8:43 to play. Saint Rose trimmed the
lead to a pair (65-63) after a Lewis lay in with 4:28 on the clock,
but the Ravens regained a seven point advantage (72-65) after a Lidke
basket with 2:36 to play.
Saint Rose refused to go away and again trailed by two (74-72)
with under a minute left in regulation, with the possession, but
missed a lay-up with 20-seconds to play to knot the score. The Ravens
connected on three-of-four at the line in the final 11-seconds to ice
the game. Franklin Pierce (5-1, 3-1 NE-10) is now off until after Christmas when they travel to the West Coast for a pair of games beginning Wednesday, December 29, at Cal State-Bakersfield at 6 p.m. (EST).
