D’Ettorre registers second career double-double

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. (Dec. 29, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce women’s basketball team suffered an 84-55 setback to non-conference foe California State University-Bakersfield tonight at the Centennial Garden in Bakersfield, Calif. Sophomore Danielle D’Ettorre (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/St. Mary's) notched her second career double-double with a ten point, 11 rebound effort to lead the Ravens.

            Bakersfield took a 36-30 advantage into the break and used a 19-2 run early in the second half to break the game open. The Roadrunners went up 57-35 following the run and never looked back, as Franklin Pierce couldn’t get closer than 19 points for the rest of the game.

            Junior Gillian Lillich (Camarillo, Calif.) and senior Shakira Jones (North Hills, Calif.) each scored a game-high 15 points for the Roadrunners. Lillich came off the bench to net six-of-13 shots from the field, including three-of-four from three-point range, and Jones went seven-of-13 from the field. Junior Laurie Hodges (Antelope Valley, Calif.) led Bakersfield with ten rebounds and five assists, while classmate Katie McElree (Apple Valley, Calif.) added thirteen points for the hosts.

            Junior captain Heather Jacobs (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton) scored a team-high 11 points, while freshman Josie Lidke (Chaska, Minn./Chaska) added nine for the Ravens. Sophomore Mollie Stelmack (New Westminster, British Columbia/New Westminster) chipped in with ten points and a game-high six assists for the visitors.

Franklin Pierce (5-2, 3-1 NE-10) will conclude its west coast swing tomorrow, when they travel to California State University-Dominguez Hills for a non-conference game beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST. The Roadrunners (6-2) will host Grand Canyon in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday.
