Franklin Pierce tops Post University, 3-1

Ravens hit a combined .662 pct for the win


Freshman Nicole Buchholz added 19 kills and five blocks in the Ravens 3-1 win vs. Post University.

WATERBURY, Conn. (Oct. 5, 2005) – The Franklin Pierce volleyball team collected 51 kills in 73 attempts (.662 pct) to defeat Post University, 3-1(30-27, 30-24, 28-30, 30-19)) in non-conference volleyball action this evening at Post’s Drubner Center.

Franklin Pierce freshman Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led the Ravens attack, tallying 19 kills in 23 total attempts (.783 pct). She also contributed five blocks in the match.  Senior Jessica Ward (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan School) was a key factor for the Ravens, contributing 18 kills, six digs, two aces and two blocks.


Freshman Karissa Hookstadt contributed 42 assists, seven digs, four kills and two blocks in the Ravens 3-1 win vs. Post University.

Freshman setter Karissa Hookdstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) totaled 42 assists, while chipping in with seven digs, four kills and two blocks.  Senior captain Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan School) aided the Ravens with 20 digs and two aces. 

Franklin Pierce (6-9, 4-2 NE-10) returns to action Saturday when it host Saint Rose College at 2 p.m.  Post University (11-10, 8-4 CACC) returns to action Monday when it travels to Philadelphia University for a match starting at 4 p.m.
