Hookstadt Named NE-10 Freshman of the Week

Camarillo, Calif. native earns her second weekly honor


Freshman Karissa Hookstadt earned her second Freshman of the Week honor.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 26, 2005) – Franklin Pierce freshman Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) was named the Northeast-10 Conference volleyball Freshman of the Week for the second time in her promising career.

The Franklin Pierce setter was brilliant in the Raven’s 3-0 week, averaging 8.16 assists and two digs per game. In the Raven’s win versus Rivier College, Hookstadt totaled a team-high 37 assists.

On the season, Hookstadt is averaging 7.89 assists per game.  The freshman setter has also contributed 2.36 digs and 0.79 kills per game.   

Franklin Pierce (4-5, 3-1 NE-10) returns to action tomorrow, when it travels to Assumption College for a Northeast-10 Conference match at 7 p.m.
