Ravens defeated by Southern New Hampshire 3-1
and by University of Bridgeport 3-0

The Franklin Pierce University
volleyball team suffered a pair of losses, 3-1 and 3-0, at the Bridgeport Tournament in non-conference volleyball action this evening.

The Ravens fell 3-1 against Southern New Hampshire University in their first match of the tournament. Junior Briana Bates (Belmont, N.H./Endicott College) totaled 13 kills, two blocks and two digs while freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Whetstone) managed 11 kills and senior Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) registered 37 assists. Sophomore Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) led the Ravens’ defense with 25 digs.

In their second contest of the day, Franklin Pierce fell to the University of Bridgeport, 3-0. Collett led the offense with 10 kills and served two aces and Findley posted 23 helpers. Defensively for the Ravens, freshman Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre Wellington) recorded 14 digs while Vece had 12 digs.

The Ravens (1-2, 1-0 NE-10) return to action tomorrow when they participate in the second day of the Bridgeport Tournament.
