Junior Briana Bates registered 12 kills, six digs, and two blocks in the Ravens' 3-0 victory over Stonehill Wednesday Night

Freshman Collett leads the Ravens with 20 kills in season opener

EASTON, Mass. (September 3, 2003) – The Franklin Pierce University
volleyball team notched a 3-0 victory over Stonehill College this evening.

The Ravens defeated the Chieftains, 30-27, 30-25, 30-17. Freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Whetstone) led the Ravens’ offense with 20 kills, while junior Briana Bates (Belmont, N.H./Endicott College) aided the attack with 12 kills. Senior Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) tallied 36 assists and sophomore Katrina Cardoza (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) led the defense with 13 digs. Bates and Collett contributed five and six digs, respectively.

Senior Bethany Findley tallied 36 assists against Stonehill.

Franklin Pierce (1-0, 1-0 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday, when it travels to the University of Bridgeport Invitational for matches against Southern New Hampshire University at 5 p.m. and University of Bridgeport at 7 p.m.
