(Oct. 5, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce University
volleyball
team defeated Southern Connecticut State in a Northeast-10
match up by a score of 3-2.
Junior Mandy
Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher Regional) led the
way for the Ravens, as she notched a season high 35
kills, served four aces, and contributed nine kills.
Sophomore setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan
School) recorded a season best 35 assists.
The Ravens were
led defensively by Heidi Jensen (South Glens Falls,
N.Y.) who registered 28 digs, and Jamie
Fulwood (Hamilton, Va./Loudoun Valley) who chipped
in 20 digs.
Southern Connecticut
State's Lisa Barbaro recorded 15 kills, 16 digs, and
served six aces for the Owls. Senior Holly Myer also
tallied 15 kills, posted 12 digs, and served three aces,
while classmate Mindi Scala added 15 kills, 28 assists,
16 digs, and four block assists.
The Ravens return
to action tomorrow when they travel to Stonehill College
for a tri-match with Pace University at 1 p.m.
