2005-06: Participated in the 41st Head of the Charles Regatta as the fifth seat on the women's varsity (WV8), aiding the Ravens to a 27th place finish with a time of 19:45.9. Filled the fifth seat on the WV8 at the Head of the Schuylkill, finishing seventh out of 46 boats with a time of 14:54.38

BEFORE FRANKLIN PIERCE: 2004 graduate of Hampshire Regional High School. Four-sport letterwinner in softball, basketball, soccer and cross country. Honor student and member of Drama Club, Select Chorus and Concert Band.

PERSONAL: Born March 18, 1986, in Northampton, Mass. Daughter of Sally and John Surgen of Southampton, Mass. Has one sister, Suzanne (24). Majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. Aspires to become a veterinarian. Works in the Community Service office and with Kitty Rescue. Member of the Franklin Pierce softball team.
