Franklin Pierce Races Against
Clark, Lesley
WORCESTER,
MASS. (April 3, 2004) – Franklin Pierce men’s and women’s
crew teams competed against Clark and Lesley in Worcester,
Massachusetts today.
Franklin Pierce placed first in the women’s varsity four
winning by two lengths with a time of 8:19.7, ahead of Lesley (8:36.4)
and Clark (8:44.7). In the boat for the Ravens were Jennifer
Wilson (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme), Maegan
Gross (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal), Elizabeth Ward
(Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville), Alexis Ozimek (Chadds
Ford, Pa./Unionville), and coxswain Colleen Houseman
(Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury).
The Ravens also earned a first place finish in the second
women’s varsity four with a time of 8:19.7, ahead of Clarks two
boats (9:12.4 and 9:31.2) and Lesley (10:27.1). In this boat for
Franklin Pierce were Lauren Bibby (Glastonbury,
Conn./Glastonbury), Amanda Ege (Levittown, Pa./Harry S.
Truman), Kathleen Chance (Winslow,
N.J./Winslow Twp.),
Trisha Marcaccio (North Providence, R.I./North
Providence), and coxswain Marybeth Houseman (Shrewsbury,
Mass./Shrewsbury).
In the men’s varsity four, Clark finished with a time of 7:39
while Franklin Pierce finished with a time of 8:06.9. In the boat for
the Ravens were Justin Watson, Derick Pignone,
Adam Bonaparte (Wareham, Mass./Wareham), Alex
Shrady (Lakeside, Conn./Wamago) and coxswain Ryan Murphy
(Northbridge, Mass./Northbridge).
The teams next travel to Lowell, Mass. on April 18th
to compete against Mass
Maritime, Middlebury, Lesley and UMass Lowell.
