Franklin Pierce Competes Against
Clark, Assumption and Holy Cross

WORCESTER, MASS. (March 27, 2004) – Franklin Pierce men’s and women’s crew teams raced against Clark and Assumption in Worcester, Massachusetts this Saturday.

            Franklin Pierce finished second in the women’s varsity four with a time of 8:27.5, just behind Clark (8:25.2). The Ravens beat out Holy Cross (8:53.0) and Assumption (8:58.5). In this boat for Franklin Pierce were Jennifer Wilson (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme), Lauren Bibby, Trisha Marcaccio, Alexis Ozimek (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville), coxswain Colleen Houseman (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury).

            The Ravens placed first in the women’s second varsity four with a time of 8:41.6, ahead of Assumption (9:04.0) and two of Clarks boats (9:30.0 and 9:46.8). Rowing for Franklin Pierce were Marcaccio, Maegan Gross, Amanda Ege, Bibby, and Houseman.

            In the men’s varsity four, Clark finished with a time of 7:36.9 while Franklin Pierce finished with a time of 8:34. In the boat for the Ravens were Justin Watson, Derick Pignone, Adam Bonaparte (Wareham, Mass./Wareham), Alex Shrady (Lakeside, Conn./Wamago) and Coxswain Ryan Murphy (Northbridge, Mass./Northbridge).

            Clark finished with a time of 8:25.8 and Franklin Pierce with a time of 8:34.7 in the men’s second varsity four, with Watson, Pignone, Bonaparte, Shrady and Murphy rowing for the Ravens.

            The teams next return to Worcester on April 3 to race against Clark and Leslie.
