RINDGE, N.H. (September 17, 2007) – Three Franklin Pierce University soccer players collected weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference on Monday.

Senior All-American Gabriela Demoner (Curitiba, Brazil) was named NE-10 Player of the Week on the women’s side, while sophomore Henning Comé (Gothenburg, Sweden) was selected as Player of the Week on the men’s side. Angelika Johansson (Falkenberg, Sweden) rounded out the honorees with women’s soccer Freshman of the Week honors.

Demoner played a role in all four Raven goals in Saturday's win at Saint Anselm.

Demoner, who earns her first award of the season (fifth career), led Franklin Pierce to Saturday’s win at Saint Anselm College as she played a role in all four of the Ravens first half goals in the 4-0 victory. She netted the Ravens first two goals, scoring just 8:55 into the match before converting a penalty kick in the 28th minute. Demoner collected assists on the Ravens remaining goals.

Demoner leads the Northeast-10 in scoring with 20 points and is second in the Conference with a team-leading seven goals and six assists. She currently ranks 24th in program history with 62 points while in her second season with the program.

Demoner recently helped lead Brazil to a bronze medal at the 2007 World University Games in Thailand after helping her country to a gold medal at that event in 2005.

Comé led the men's team to a pair of 4-1 wins with five goals and an assist for 11 points last week.

Comé, who earns his first weekly award from the NE-10, led Franklin Pierce to a 2-0 week on the men’s side with five goals and an assist for 11 points. He scored three goals in just the opening 10:53 of Wednesday’s 4-1 win at Assumption College, striking first just 76-seconds into the contest before adding goals at 8:49 and 10:53. Comé helped lead Franklin Pierce to a 4-1 win over American International College with two goals and an assist for five points on Saturday. He opened the scoring with a goal 5:04 into the match and completed the double in the 24th minute before setting up the Ravens final marker with just 18-seconds to play in regulation.

Comé leads the NE-10 with eight goals and 18 points early in his first season with the Ravens, while his two assists are good for second on the team.

Johansson earns Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Johansson, named Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, totaled five points with two goals and an assist for Franklin Pierce in a 2-0 week. She posted a goal and assist in Saturday’s 4-0 win at Saint Anselm after netting the insurance goal in Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over Assumption.

Johansson is second on the team and in the NE-10 to Demoner with 17 points in her first collegiate season, sharing the Conference and team lead with seven goals to go with three assists (8th NE-10).

The Franklin Pierce men and women are back in action on Wednesday when they both host matches as part of a twi-night soccer doubleheader at Sodexho Field. The women (5-1-1, 3-1-1 NE-10), ranked 17th in last week’s NSCAA/adidas Division II poll, host Stonehill College at 4 p.m. The men (4-1-1, 3-0-0 NE-10) host Bentley College at 7 p.m.
