poll, scored a goal midway through each half in collecting a 2-0
victory over Bentley College in Northeast-10 Conference men’s soccer
action at Sodexho Field tonight. Franklin Pierce, unbeaten over its last five matches, posted its fourth-straight shutout and is

Freshman midfielder Hideo Nemoto (Tokyo, Japan)
scored the only goal Franklin Pierce would need in the 27th

(Mississauga, Ontario/York University) and fired a side-footed
shot from the left channel inside the right post for the first goal of
his collegiate career.

netted an insurance goal in the 68th minute by driving a
free kick from 21-yards out into the upper left corner.
Bentley’s best scoring chance came in the 80th

low shot from the right channel was scooped off the deck by Thorpe at
the near post.
Senior goalkeeper Greg Ott (Guilford, Conn./Guilford)
made one save for Bentley, who was out-shot 12-7 for the contest. Franklin Pierce (5-3-1, 3-0 NE-10) returns to action on Friday when it visits Bryant University at 3:30 p.m. Bentley (3-3, 1-3 NE-10) travels to the College of Saint Rose on Saturday for a match at 2 p.m. |
