Kevin
Pezanowski
Franklin Pierce went 2-12 in Pezanowski's second season leading the
team, including a 1-9 mark in the Northeast-10 Conference. In his
first season at the helm,
Pezanowski came to Franklin Pierce after serving in several
coaching capacities at The Groton (Mass.) School from 2002-2006. He
also served as the head lacrosse coach at Curry College for five
years before that. Pezanowski led the Colonels to a 26-55 (.321) mark
from 1998 through 2002. Curry made appearances in the Commonwealth
Coast Conference Tournament in three of his five years at the helm and he
led Curry to a school-record 9-8 mark his final season. Prior to Curry, Pezanowski was an assistant coach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for three years, where he was in charge of offensive and defensive game strategy and team scouting, and was a full-time assistant coach at The Ohio State University from August 1991 through January 1994. He served as the Buckeyes defensive coordinator and was also responsible for high school recruiting. Pezanowski earned his Master’s Degree in physical education and recreation at Ohio State in 1994. The head coach has also spoken at the last two US Lacrosse National conventions, which serve as the largest education opportunity for lacrosse coaches, officials and administrators. In 2007, he presented on "Team Defense Strategies", while his presentation at the 2008 event involved "Challenge Practices" that were used to pit teammates in ongoing, full-field, 3-on-3 competitions throughout the season. Pezanowski earned his Bachelor’s Degree in physical education from Springfield College in 1989. He has served as a physical education instructor at Methuen High School in Massachusetts for 12 years. Christian Messler Messler comes to Franklin Pierce from Div. III Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., from which he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in history. Messler was a four-year letterwinner with the Mules men’s lacrosse team, appearing in 39 games in four seasons as a defender while scoring one goal and picking up 59 ground balls. Messler is a founding member and defense instructor at the Gonzo Lacrosse Academy, a program that promotes the development of lacrosse in the Lehigh Valley. He has worked at the Academy for each of the last three years, conducting year-round classes for middle and high school athletes. He has also served as an assistant men’s lacrosse coach at both Southern Lehigh High School and at Saucon Valley High School. A native of Allentown, Pa., Messler currently resides in Swanzey, N.H. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education at Franklin Pierce. |
