Past Franklin Pierce, 27-5

Penmen open 17-1 lead by the intermission and roll to victory

MANCHESTER, N.H. (March 27, 2004) – Southern New Hampshire University raced out to a 17-1 lead by halftime and coasted to a 27-5 victory over Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 Conference men’s lacrosse action at Penman Field tonight.

            Freshman Joe Young (Derry, N.H.) led Southern New Hampshire with five goals and three assists, while junior Dan Bierbower (Hopewell Valley, N.J.) added five goals and an assist. Classmate Josh Law (Liverpool, N.Y.) chipped in three goals and two assists.

            Freshman Mike Willis (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) led Franklin Pierce with two goals and two assists. Senior Jimmy Ward (Lynn, Mass./Lynn Classical) netted two goals. While junior Nick Mincolla (Cohassett, Mass./Gov. Dummer Academy) saw his streak of 14 games with at least a goal halted, he has now registered a point in 15-straight contests as he dished an assist for the Ravens this afternoon.

Franklin Pierce (0-3, 0-1 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday when it visits Bentley College at 7 p.m. Southern New Hampshire (1-3, 1-1 NE-10) visits Le Moyne College on April 3.
