Dolphins unbeaten in ten matches after victory

RINDGE, N.H. (April 24, 2004) – Top-ranked Le Moyne College led 13-2 after the first half and never looked back in picking up a 24-3 decision over Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 Conference men’s lacrosse action this afternoon.

            Senior Dan Holdridge (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) and freshman Travis Ames (Black River, N.Y./Carthage) each totaled seven points to lead the Le Moyne attack. Holdridge registered five goals and two assists, while Ames tallied four goals and three assists for the afternoon.

            Sophomore Ryan Lewis (Minoa, N.Y./ES-M) added three goals and two assists for five points, while junior Kyle Reichel (East Syracuse, N.Y./ES-M) chipped in three markers.

            Senior Kevin Medeiros (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford), junior Nick Mincolla (Cohasset, Mass./Gov. Dummer) and sophomore Nick Cowden (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) netted goals for Franklin Pierce.

            Le Moyne sophomore Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) registered three saves in the first half in goal, while junior Brennan Keng (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) posted two stops over the final 30-minutes. Freshman Matt Cloutier (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) played the first 40:51 for the Ravens in goal and posted seven saves, while sophomore Ben Lek (Gaithersburg, Md./Col. Magruder) made five stops over the final 19:09.

            Le Moyne scored the first six goals over the opening 12 minutes of the contest with Lewis netting two of his three goals in that span. Medeiros put the Ravens on the board with just three-seconds left in the opening quarter and Cowden’s goal just 30-seconds into the second quarter made it 6-2. However, the Dolphins reeled off 18-straight before Mincolla netted his goal with just four-seconds left in the match.

            Franklin Pierce (2-10, 1-7 NE-10) returns to action on Monday when it visits Green Mountain College at 3:30 p.m. Le Moyne (10-0, 8-0 NE-10) hosts Southern New Hampshire University tomorrow at 1 p.m.
