- The Franklin Pierce University
men's lacrosse team suffered
a 13-10 non-conference loss to the University of New Haven
at Dodds Stadium in West Haven, Conn. this afternoon.
The Chargers were led by Anthony
Barberio who registered five goals and three assists. Jim
Hufnagel registered three goals and dished four helpers
in the win.
FP
was led by junior Andy
McEntee (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset), who tallied
four markers and an assist. Sophomore Jimmy Ward (Lynn,
Mass./Lynn Classical) totaled three goals and two
assists, while senior Ken Beaudette (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire)
added four assists.
The score was knotted at eight a
piece, but freshman Sean Bumstead netted his third goal
of the game at the 12:20 mark of the third quarter to put
New Haven ahead. Bumstead and Barberio went on to score
two more goals to help the Chargers take an 11-8 lead.

goalkeeper Andy Cote (Middleton,
Mass./Masconomet) made 20 saves in 60 minutes in
net. New Haven's Phil Goldberg stopped 11 shots in 60 minutes
of work to preserve the win.

(0-12, 0-8 NE-10) returns to
action on Thursday, when it travels to American International
College for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at 3:30 p.m.
New Haven (5-8) will next host Salem State College on Saturday
at 2 p.m.
