Upends FPC, 14-8
WINCHENDON, MASS. (April 15, 2002)
- The Franklin Pierce University
men's lacrosse team fell to
non-conference foe Daniel Webster College, 14-8, at Winchendon
School in Winchendon, Mass. this afternoon.
Daniel Webster's Matt Pietrowski
and Mike Lundquist both recorded five goals and two helpers
to lead the Eagles to victory. Derek Davidson dished three
assists to help the cause.

junior Andy McEntee (Manhasset,
N.Y./Manhasset) netted four goals and dished one
assist despite the loss. Jimmy Ward (Lynn, Mass./Lynn
Classical) recorded two goals for the Ravens.
The Ravens jumped out to the early
two-goal lead in the first quarter, as Ward scored his twelfth
of the season at the 1:08 mark. Kevin Medeiros (Chelmsford,
Mass./Chelmsford) converted a McEntee pass just
two minutes later to make the score 2-0.
Daniel Webster's Tom Howe cut FPC's
lead in half, as he netted an unassisted tally at the 14:05
mark.

answered just 2:30 into the second
quarter as McEntee scored two straight goals in a span of
three minutes to help the Ravens take the 4-1 advantage.
Pietrowski responded with back-to-back
markers at the 10:28 mark of the second to bring the Eagles
within one goal. The Eagles tied things up at the 2:58 mark
of the third quarter, as Lundquist scored on a pass from
Pietrowski to knot the score 4-4.

fought back with a goal at the
3:15 mark of the third, as Dean Patty (East Lyme,
Conn./East Lyme) recorded his second goal of the
season, but Daniel Webster tacked on four answered goals
in the third period to take the lead for good.

goaltender Andy Cote (Middleton,
Mass./Masconomet) made 22 stops in 60:00 minutes
in net. Daniel Webster goalkeeper Pawel Rutkowski made 14
saves for the win.
The Ravens (0-9, 0-6 NE-10) return
to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Saint Anselm
College for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at 3:30 p.m.
The Ravens return home on Saturday when they host Pace University
at 1 p.m.
