
Dr. Owen Houghton Owen Houghton recently completed his 22nd year at the helm of the Franklin Pierce men's golf team in 2007-08 and has taken the program to new heights in recent years. Houghton has guided the first three Franklin Pierce players ever to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Open Golf Championships in recent years. The Ravens have continued to show improvement on a yearly basis since joining the highly competitive Northeast-10 Conference in 2000.
Houghton's golfers have performed in the classroom as well as the field of play as several individuals have earned NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status and a program record three student-athletes collected NE-10 All-Academic honors in 2006. The former Dean of Students at the College, Dr. Houghton retired in 1992 and now dedicates himself to the Ravens golf program. When he is not teeing off at The Shattuck, home course of the Ravens, Houghton is the Director of Senior Care Management Services in Peterborough, N.H. Houghton and his wife, Norma, reside in Jaffrey. |
