Earns NE-10 RINDGE, N.H. (December 13, 2007) – Franklin Pierce University senior Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) has earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic golf team as selected by the Conference’s 15 sports information directors and announced by the NE-10 office this afternoon. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, student-athletes must have met or exceeded the following requirements: 1.) participated in a least half of the team’s competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2.) achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3.) completed at least one academic year at their current institution.
Jasinski,
an NE-10 All-Academic team selection for the second-straight year, has
earned a 3.51 cumulative grade point average while majoring in sports
and recreation management at Franklin Pierce. The first student-athlete
in program history to earn All-Academic honors multiple years, Jasinski
enjoyed a record-breaking fall season to start his final collegiate
year. He competed in all six events for the Ravens this fall and posted
a team-low 79.70 stroke average over ten competitive rounds.
Jasinski set a program record with his career-low round of 71 on
day two of the ECAC Division II Championships to place 26th
overall with a two-day score of 149 – one stroke shy of the best
two-day score in program history. He helped Franklin Pierce capture the
team title at the Saint Anselm Fall Classic with a round of 83. Jasinski
capped the fall season with the best two day score by a Raven at the New
England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship, posting a
score of 156 (79-77) to place 39th overall in the field of
211 and 14th among Division II golfers at the event.
Jasinski, a two-time NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll Bronze
Scholar, has been an important member of the golf team over his
collegiate career. He has posted an 83.43 stroke average over 32 events
in his collegiate career. Jasinski’s 84.10 stroke average in the fall
of 2006 also led the team. Franklin Pierce will return to the links for its spring schedule to commence in early April. |
