N.H. (December 9, 2003) – Franklin Pierce freshman point guard Ryan
McLellan (Newport, Maine/Nokomis) was selected as the
Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week by the Conference office
on Monday.
McLellan earned his second Freshman of the Week selection of
the season after he netted a season-high 31 points in Franklin
Pierce’s lone game of the week, a 78-77 loss to Bentley College, on
Wednesday. McLellan also totaled four rebounds and three assists with
a steal in 32 minutes of action against the Falcons. He hit 10-of-20
shots from the field, including 4-7 from three-point range, and
converted all seven free-throw attempts for the night.
Through the first seven games of the season, McLellan leads
Franklin Pierce in scoring, averaging 17.1 points (8th
NE-10), including 18.4 in Conference play, and has led the Ravens in
scoring three times. He is also averaging 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists
per contest.
Franklin Pierce (3-4, 2-3 NE-10) is off until after Christmas,
when it will participate in the Bryant Holiday Classic. The Ravens
will face Concordia (N.Y.) College on Monday, December 29, at 7:30
p.m.
