to lead Penmen

2, 2001) - Franklin Pierce University
men's basketball
team fell to intrastate rival, Southern New Hampshire University,
by a score of 86-65 in Northeast-10 Conference action in
the FP
Fieldhouse this afternoon.
FP
took a four point
lead three minutes after tip-off, however, the Penmen went
on an 11-2 run at the 11:53 mark of the first half to take
a ten point lead. FP
struggled to recover and the Penmen
took a commanding 20-point lead after making a 19-2 run
with four minutes left in the half. The Ravens attempted
to battle back, but the Penmen offense was too much for
the Ravens.
Sotirios Karapostolou
was unstoppable, as he sunk 10-for-16 (62.5%) from the field
and 2-for-4 (50.0%) from the three-point line to lead all
scorers with 23 points. Brian Larabee couldn't miss from
the charity stripe, as he drained 11-for13 (84.6%) from
the free throw line and 5-for-10 (50.0%) from the floor
to tally 21 points. Carlington Bent led the Penmen defense
with nine rebounds.
FPC's high scorer
was Jimmie Hunt (Utica, N.Y./Mount Ararat (Maine))
who registered 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Alfonso Payne (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin Academy)
totaled a season high 13 points and six rebounds despite
the loss.

returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to UMass
Lowell for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at 7 p.m. Southern
New Hampshire (4-2, 2-2 NE-10) next hosts the University
of New Haven on Wednesday for a non-conference battle at
7:30 p.m.
