All-Rookie Team
Blauvelt, N.Y., native earns Ravens 
third All-Rookie award in as many years

RINDGE, N.H. (March 9, 2006) – Franklin Pierce guard Timothy Munch (Blauvelt, N.Y./Storm King Prep) was voted to the Northeast-10’s All-Rookie Team by the Conference’s 15 head coaches. The announcement by made by the NE-10 office this week.

            Munch, who is the third Franklin Pierce basketball player in as many years to earn All-Rookie honors, collects the award after setting a program record by being named NE-10 Freshman of the Week four times in his first collegiate season. Munch ranked second on the team this season as he averaged 11.1 points and 3.3 rebounds to go with 28 assists and 25 steals, while averaging 23.2 minutes in 27 games played (13 starts). He led the team by hitting 81.5-percent (44-54) of his attempts from the free-throw line and was second on the team with 51 three-point field goals.            

Munch reached double-figures in scoring 15 times this season, leading Franklin Pierce in scoring on eight occasions. He was the Ravens top rebounder four times, including January 24, when he grabbed a season-high nine boards (three offensive) in a win at Saint Michael’s College. Munch established his season-best for scoring in just his second collegiate game, netting a team season-high 31 points in the Ravens win over CUNY-Baruch.

            Munch netted 22 points in a tough three-point loss to eventual NE-10 regular season champions Bentley College on February 7. He led the Ravens back from a halftime deficit at Southern Connecticut State University (1/14) with 18 of his team-high 21 points after the intermission, including eight points in overtime, as he buried 6-of-11 three-pointers (5-8 after the break).

            Franklin Pierce (13-15, 10-12 NE-10) earned a postseason berth for the 29^th-straight year with the ninth seed in the Northeast-10 Tournament. The Ravens posted an 8-2 record in the month of January, winning five-straight for the first time since midway through the 1999-2000 season.
