Bentley Sweeps Franklin Pierce, 9-0

WALTHAM, Mass. (April 1, 2006) – Bentley College blanked Franklin Pierce, 9-0, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis action this afternoon.

Bentley won three tight doubles matches, and then took all six singles matches in straight sets. Junior Greg Maloomian (Needham, Mass./Noble & Greenough) led the Falcons double-winners with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at first singles after surviving a 9-8 decision at No. 1 doubles with classmate Greg Avola (Framingham, Mass./Framingham).

Franklin Pierce (1-4, 1-4 NE-10) returns to action tomorrow when it hosts Merrimack College at 10 a.m. Bentley (8-6, 4-1 NE-10) hosts Assumption College tomorrow at 1 p.m.
