Pierce Dominates SYRACUSE,
N.Y. (April 10, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce University
In singles play, senior
captain Darko Minic (Belgrade, Serbia/XII Belgrade Gimnasium)
defeated Dave Majcak (New York Mills, N.Y.) 6-0, 6-1 at #1
singles; junior Arun Lazarus (Bradenton, Fla./Bayshore)
fell in the first set 5-7, and came back to drop Frank Donaldson
(Brewerton, N.Y.) 6-0, 6-0 in the second and third sets at #2
singles. Maciej Szpakowski (Cieszyn, Poland/Mattituck (N.Y.))
blanked Ryan Delany (Clay, N.Y.) 6-0, 6-0 at #3 singles,
while Elliot Mcllellan (Jaffrey, N.H./Williston-Northampton)
and J.P. Morgan (Hampton Bays, N.Y./Hampton Bays) also
picked up one-on-one wins for Franklin Pierce.
All three doubles combinations
for the Ravens were victorious in their matches, as well. Morgan and
Szpakowski continued their dominance at #3 doubles, improving to 5-0 in
conference play on the season.
Franklin Pierce (4-11, 3-3
NE-10) next hosts American International in Northeast-10 action on
Monday at 3 p.m., while Le Moyne (1-7, 1-7 NE-10) faces Saint
Michael’s at home on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
