The Ravens took every set in every match in both singles and
doubles competition. In singles play, senior captain Darko Minic
(Belgrade, Serbia/XII Belgrade Gimnasium) defeated Pedro
De Paula (Rolandia, Brazil) 7-5, 6-3; junior Arun Lazarus
(Bradenton, Fla./Bayshore) swept Brian Hashem (Auburn,
NH/Pinkerton Academy)
6-2, 6-0 and Maciej
Szpakowski (Cieszyn, Poland/Mattituck (N.Y.))
dropped only one game in his victory over Kevin Cullen (Medway,
MA/Medway)
6-0, 6-1. Elliot Mcllellan (Jaffrey, N.H./Williston-Northampton),
Ryan Jones (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and J.P. Morgan
(Hampton Bays, N.Y./Hampton Bays) all picked up one-on-one wins
for Franklin Pierce.
All three doubles combinations for the Ravens were victorious in
their matches, as well, by the identical score 8-4.
Franklin Pierce (3-7, 2-1 NE-10) next travels to Bentley tomorrow (Sunday) for a Conference match at 1 p.m., while Southern New Hampshire (0-2, 0-2 NE-10) travels to Assumption on Wednesday for a Conference match at 3 p.m
