RINDGE, N.H. (March 8, 2004) – Franklin Pierce senior captain, Darko Minic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia/XII Belgrade Gimnasium) was named the Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis Player of the Week and Elliot Mcllellan (Jaffrey, N.H./Williston-Northampton) was named Freshman of the Week by the Conference office today.

            Minic earns his second Conference honor of his career, as he led the Ravens to a 6-3 victory over Pace University for their first League win of the season. Minic posted a 6-2, 6-4 win at #1 singles after first picking up an 8-4 win at #1 doubles alongside last week’s NE-10 Player of the Week, Arun Lazarus (Bradenton, Fla./Bayshore).

            With the wins against Pace, Minic improved to 1-1 this season at #1 singles and 1-1 at #1 doubles.

            Mcllellan earns his first career Conference honor after he tallied a 6-1, 6-4 win for the Ravens at #4 singles against Pace on Sunday in his first collegiate match.

            Franklin Pierce (2-0, 1-0 NE-10) returns to the courts on Wednesday when it hosts Bryant in a Conference match at 3 p.m.
