(March 14, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce University
men's
tennis team defeated intra-state rivals, Saint Anselm College,
7-2, in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon.
Junior Ricky
Sanford (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell) notched a 6-0,
6-1 win at #3 singles and teamed up with freshman Ryan
Jones (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) at #2 doubles
to pace the Ravens.
Junior Art Shannon
(Danvers, Mass./Danvers) and senior Pat Teague
(West Haven, Conn./West Haven) also recorded wins
in their singles matches and joined forces at #3 doubles
for an 8-0 win over Saint Anselm's Steve Mercier and Patrick
Marzuk.

next travels to Hilton Head, S.C. on Sunday, March 17, for
a non-conference matchup with Shepherd College at noon.
Saint Anselm (0-1, 0-1 NE-10) hosts Le Moyne College on
Friday for a Northeast-10 Conference battle at 3 p.m.
